How many four digit numbers can you make?

How many four digit numbers can be created from the digits 2,9,8,3,1,4, and 7 without repeating any?

*Use permutation please.How many four digit numbers can you make?
1, 2,3,4,7,8,9

nPr=n!/(n-r)!

7P4=7!/(7-4)!=840 answer//How many four digit numbers can you make?
Well, since you have 7 digits and they are all different, u can just use the calculator command of 7P4. If not, it would help if you draw 4 boxes, each representing a possible digit, then fill in the number of choices you can insert in each box, starting from the first. For example, the first box would be 7 choices since u have 7 numbers to work with. Second would be 6 since u have already used 1 number. The third and fourth would be 5 and 4 respectively. Therefore, you get 7x6x5x4 = 840! =)
all of the digits are different

so it's how many permutations of 4 from 7 given by

7! / (7-4)! = 7! / 3! = 5040 / 6 = 840
7*6*5*4=840

permutation of 7 digits you said in 4 places of a 4digit number
That's easy if you think logically.

Start by putting them in order lowest to highest....

The start with the lowest number ... you can do it! get the picture?

Good luck!
