What do the letters and numbers mean on cr2016 3v or cr2032 3v?

I get that the 3V refers to 3 volt but what about the 2016 and 2032?





I've got a CR2016 lying around never used and my CMOS Battery in my Dell Computer just ran out would it do any damage to try the CR2016 ?





They both appear to be the same diameter and appear that the CR2016 may fit.What do the letters and numbers mean on cr2016 3v or cr2032 3v?
They might look similar, but they have a slightly different diameter or thickness.





All CR batteries have the same technology (Lithium) and the same voltage (3.0)... but different companies select a different model to fit their size requirements.

the 2016 ur taliking bout is a model number so u can get a new one when needed and no dont try usibg the other one
