How do I register my pit bull puppy not knowing the reg numbers of its parents? Can He be registered without?

No, not with the AKC. His litter would have to be registered by his breeder, then registration papers provided to you.

If you want him registered with the CKC(Continental Kennel Club), go to their website, print out a registration application, take pics of him according to what's needed specified on the application(like a left side, right side and frontal shot)and get 2 witnesses to sign the application saying your dog is indeed a purebred dog, send in the $12 registration fee, and you can register him that way.How do I register my pit bull puppy not knowing the reg numbers of its parents? You cannot register a dog without it's parents' registration details. However, if you would like your dog to compete in AKC events such as obedience, tracking, and agility, you can register your dog in the Purebred Alternative Registry. You need to send in a registry fee, application form, proof that the dog has been spayed or neutered , as well as two pictures of the dog.

However, this registry does not qualify your dog to compete in shows and does not allow its offspring (obviously, since the dog must be spayed or neutered to qualify) to be given full registration. How do I register my pit bull puppy not knowing the reg numbers of its parents? If he's apparently purebred, also he needs to be neutered, you can get him an ILP number thru the AKC. It's like, $55 and you need to send in photos and a reason why you think he's purebred. Then you can show him in obedience, agility, field trials and Junior Showmanship.

You will not be able to get him a registered number for breeding purposes.

Good luck!
NOPE. If he was really registrable, you would have been given the papers when you got him. Short of contacting the breeder, there is nothing you can do.

ETA: Pamela, the AKC isn't the end all of registries. APBTs have been registered with the UKC since 1898 and the ADBA since 1902.
With any reputable kennel club, you cannot register the puppy unless the parents have been registered. It's the only way to follow the bloodlines correctly.

Sorry.

As for the Continental Kennel Club, I could register a shoe with that kennel club. Worthless.
You can get limited registration from UKC so that you may participate in shows, but that's it.

You can't get your dog registered in a way that would allow your dog's puppies to be registered or anything like that.
No, but what does it matter, just love your dog %26amp; be good to him, you got screwed and maybe you deserve it, you gave a ';breeder'; your money you could have also gone to a rescue, but in your own way you have saved a little life so make sure you give it a good one
Nope, the UKC will not accept a dog for registration if its parents cannot be proven registered.
No, it doesn't sound legit. Also I agree the Continental Kennel Club is worthless.
Who are you registering this dog with? AKC does not recognize Pitt bulls as a breed. so they are just mutts just like any other mutt
No.
