I am trying to find out how many possible ways there are to pick numbers in the lottery and be guranteed to win. So if you chose every number possible in every sequence possible how many sets of numbers would there be? Someone please help me out on this one I have been racking my brain over this for a while now. I have tried to explain it as ful in detail as possible so I hope that someone can get me the answer? If you picked all the numbers in the texas lottery every way possible how many different sets would you have?
The Texas lottery includes 6 numbers chosen from 1 to 54. The number of possibilities is thus 54 * 53 * 52 * 51 * 50 * 49 or 18,595,558,800 or about 300 times the highest Texas lotto jackpot ever.If you picked all the numbers in the texas lottery every way possible how many different sets would you have?
It would help if you tell us how many lottery balls there are...
If there are n balls and m numbers are chosen the the formula is
n*(n-1)*...*(n-m+1)
