By focusing on extreme right rather than the moderate voter. How has the GOP managed to turn off Independents in such large numbers?
Because the majority of us are in our homes
We work we pay bills we go home . If you live in a city you likely don't know the name of your neighbor
On the way to work you either drive or take the bus . You don't talk to anyone on that bus - You listen to the radio in the car maybe a new CD
Your information comes to you , radio TV newspapers it finds you .The opinions of journalists almost completely obscure the issue
How many people own these major networks ? Are these the same ones that produce such incredible TV which leaves children mesmerized by it
We have seen that look before -- We had it too when we were a kid but the difference is our parents were horrified by it and kicked us outside to play and it was ';safe'; for them to do that , we and those younger than us are comfortable with that look
We get it too ...or a lot of us . At about 6pm or whenever we get home and get to sit on the couch
My parents got their first TV in 1955 ---- what did they do with their time before that ? Can you remember ....but as if it were a million years ago --?
-----------------------
How hard would it be to just turn the camera away from these independents ? Would they exist any more ?
If I don't like your opinion why should I cover it ...? I mean isn't that the right of the owner of a TV or radio broadcasting corporation ?
The only difficulty is there can't be more than 100 of them controlling the information flow of 300 million
All that exists is what these men bring to you - All your news both sides of the issue ----
They bring you side A and side B They show you certain stories but not others
Survivor ---- election series
The camera turns and this or that issue debate or ';incident'; is forgotten
Orwell called them Unpersons although we are not quite there ....it can't be far away
Their aggressive, intrusive foreign policy which has caused the terrorist attacks, their love of war, and their destruction on the Bill of Rights.
Besides these things, their blatant disregard for the economic well being of the American people, and their turning a blind eye to the stealing by Wall Street criminals.
It took 12 years of Republican rule in one way or the other for true Independents to wake up. All you have to do is look at what their policies have done to the economy, the middle class and our place in the world.
dey just being themselves!
