How would i find a pattern in a large group of numbers?

I have a LARGE group of numbers, and i was wondering what would it take to find a pattern amongst the group.

see which numbers r in order alot like say: 23 12 16 18 23 12 16 18 How would i find a pattern in a large group of numbers?
I would be happy to take a look at the numbers, and try and find a pattern myself. I know it's not exactly what you're asking for, but I have to shamefully admit it's something I'd enjoy doing :P
