How do you find the percent increase or decrease in two numbers?

I have math homework and Im like, what the heck is this? The problems say, 2. Before: 120 After: 396 How do you find the increase or decrease? That is an increse problem and a decrease is Before: 480 After: 24. Can you tell me what to do?How do you find the percent increase or decrease in two numbers?
This is much easier than it looks like!





Here's what you need to do:





120 is 100%. So how many percent is 396 of 120? (396 / 120 x 100)


It is 330%.





What is the increase between 100% to 330%? It is 230%!





First Answer: Increase 230%

480 = 100%. How many percent is 24 of 480 (24 / 480 x 100)


It is 5%.





What is the decrease between 100% and 5%? It is 95%!





Second Answer: Decrease 95%
