What kind of selection increases the numbers of individuals with extreme phenotypes?

What kind of selection increases the numbers of individuals with extreme phenotypes?





- Disruptive selection


- Stabilizing selection


- Directional selection





* I am thinking the correct answer would be directional selection, but I am not very sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated!


What kind of selection increases the numbers of individuals with extreme phenotypes?
Disruptive selection fabours both extremes (i.e. really tall individuals, and really short individuals)





Stabilizing selection favours the intermediate (i.e. moderately tall individuals)





Directional selection favours only one extreme (i.e. either really tall individuals or really short individuals)





So disruptive selection would increase the number of individuals with both extreme phenotypes, and directional selection would favour a certain extreme phenotypes.What kind of selection increases the numbers of individuals with extreme phenotypes?
One extreme is directional, whereas 2 extremes is disruptive.
