It has numbers 0-9 and a large stop/start button and the previous owner doesn't know how and doesnt have the manual. Please help to keep unwanted people out of my garage!!!!!How do you change your garage code number when the keypad has only numbers 0-9 and start/stop buttons?

There should be small switches in the door opener motor and the same in the remote. Open both of these, look for switches and make the change to both of them to that they read the same.
There is a button on the motor unit that you have to press to change the code.
