How does a football player get its numbers? I saw a Patriots vs. Giants game and two of the players had the same number! How do football players get their numbers?
1-9 QB-K
10-19 QB-WR-TE-K
20-49 DB-RB/FB
50-59 C-LB
60-79 DL-OL
80-89 WR-TE
90-99 LB-DL
Depending on the position as you see, they can't whatever number that they like this is not college. Usually the number they choose is a number that they had in college or it is close to their number or a number that some Hall of Famer had or they liked etc.How do football players get their numbers?
The players themselves get to choose the jersey number, with some rules. Certain position are assigned a certain range of numbers like what the others have mentioned.
In the NFL, no 2 players on the same team can have the same number. But in college, duplicate numbers are allowed due to the extremely large rosters. The 2 players just can't be on the field at the same time.
Two players on the same team can have the same number. The rule is two players can have the same number on the same team but they can never be on the field at the same time. For example, a QB can have number 12 and a Linebacker can have number 12 but they can never be on the field together.
they pick. and two players on the same team can't have the same number it would make no sense. there's a differece between the 2 teams one's white and blue, the other's is blue.
there are groups of numbers that a certain postition can take, like linemen can get 50-79 recievers are like 80-90 QBs are like 20 and below RBs are like 20-40 ect but they just choose their fav unless its taken
they usually choose a number that they like or a number of their favorite player
i think players choose there there number according to their position
like when do you see a QB wearing number 66 or number 22
not counting doug flutie
The NFL has certain number ranges that certain position players must wear. College is a lot more lenient when it comes to that.
